RAWR! I AM 21! RAWR!

Well, I turned 21 at 2.47am this morning ... but I was asleep :x And when I woke up, I'd forgotten and mum had to remind me!

Tonight I went out with about nine friends to dinner for my birthday. I had the best birthday dinner ever! Largely because it was in the company of people I am very fond of, and in most cases feel like I am best friends with them*. That is, all my dearest friends, the exchange student, one friend's significant other, and another good friend.

*(there were a few people that weren't there, that I wish could have been - a number of LJ readers, for example ;)

This is how it started:

About 6.15 I'm trying to get my mum to tie my shirt up for me, and the phone rings. Dad answers - it's Darius, and I stay calm, but part of me thinks "oh god, he's going to say he can't come". It's not that. It's a request for me to come to the door. So, I go to answer it, and he's standing there with red roses! and he was wearing a new shirt that he bought today! And he'd had a haircut!

He looked so super cute!

And I just melted. I hug-jumped him and nearly squashed the flowers! So then he came in and held my hands while mum finished tying my top, and then we discussed if the top was, lol, appropriate. We decided it wasn't, so I went upstairs to change, and he came with me, so I opened the card ... and I cried! It was so beautiful! It's been so long since he wrote any kind of poetry for me (because it's fueled by love, it makes it the most beautiful thing I've ever read!) And ... it told me that I was special, and to stay strong and true to myself. So I hugged him and gave him kisses. The poor boy asked if tears were a good thing *giggles* but it was just ... overwhelmingly beautiful.

So then I get my contacts in, and I'm like "wah! we're late!" and he's like "relax! getting your contacts in five seconds sooner wouldn't have helped". Anyway, then he starts telling me while I get in the car about how he went shopping today, and he ended up buying a shirt though, and he wore it tonight. Then we get to dinner and we were like half an hour late, lol omg, but then it was all ok and things were wonderful, food was wonderful, and boy was there some fantastic conversation! ... like, what to abstain from at Lent for those Christians at the table (hair conditioner, or sex, or chocolate) <-- then my friend said to another friend (who'd said: "oh, good, I could give up conditioner and just get weekly hair treatments!") she says "uh, no, honey ... God knows about hair treatments too" (they were having fun, they're not like biblethumpers or anything, but they were getting into it) and I interjected with "No way! ... d00ds, God moves with the times, yo!" and they all fell about laughing - Sarah literally collasped with her forehead on the table.

And then I got gifts - a teddy bear from couple of friends, and from another some essential oil mixes that are good for spicing up the romance in your life, and from [info]tazzerath a identical pair of earrings to some cat earrings that I have been mourning the loss of for so long. (Also, this morning I got a lovely huge amethyst and display from some family friends, and a couple of books from my dad).

(About September last year I lost my cat earrings, and he had them re-made for me.)

Anyway, after eating and drinking and chatting and so on, we went home and then I hugged him and he hugged me. So I kissed him goodnight. When he asked if I'd had a good night, I told him yes - I told him that the best thing 9f so many wonderful things was that he was there!

Awww ... it was so wonderful! I think this will keep my on a great high for a while - it certainly helps me to overcome the shit I feel like my dad is dragging me through at the moment.

Hehe. Yes! Mwahaha .... so if I ever go to visit the US, the people who my money stretches to seeing had better look out! (well, not actually ... I don't like hangovers, and some days even the whiff of alcohol it makes my stomach roil before I even drink it *sigh*)

LOL!

Wow, it doesn't seem so long ago that you were having the party. And weren't you late for that as well? :)

Thank you!

Ehehehe. Yes, but I'm getting better! Only 1/2 an hour as opposed to a whole hour! *is ashamed* Lol, I was aiming to leave on time, and in fact be early, but then Darius came over and I just wanted to snuggle him (we've both been so busy recently. I haven't seen him since Saturday, lol).

No that's quite alright, understandable. Quality time together is always good. And he writes poetry, that's great :)
