10 things I've done that you might not have.

1. Seen/communicated with people whom I knew that have passed over. For real. (If you don't believe, that's cool, but this is what I believe, and I don't think we need to tell each other that "UR A L0S3R!!1!" for reasons x, y, z).
2. Been bitten on the butt by a pony I was taking for a ride-out.
3. Been t-boned once, rear-ended twice, reversed into someone else, t-boned another person, and backed into a tree (are you sure you still want to drive with me? lol, actually, unless they've just been keeping silent, I don't think any of my passengers have been to ruffled - all of these events bar one happened when I was alone in the car).
4. Changed my name, legally, completely, utterly.
5. Sat in the cockpit of a large, commercial, passenger-airplane for take off and landing (my uncle was the captain)
6. Put my panties in the bin, in the toilets in the Vatican City, because I got my period and was unprepared :x
7. Eaten kangaroo, jellyfish, and stingray.
8. Had cosmetic surgery (on my toes), lol.
9. Broken (not really) into the Elder Conservatorium building and the practice rooms, just to play (well, I made random noises, Darius played) on the practice pianos there. Actually, we're really lucky it wasn't alarmed :x
10. Survived a inter-tribal clash over the rape of a girl in Papua New Guinea.

So today has been lazy, lol. I cleaned up my room, vacuumed and sprayed the carpet, done a huge load of washing, washed and cleaned up in the kitchen. Other than that? I had a one hour nap at about 10am for a bit, and spent a bit of time online. I'm going to head out in a bit to the supermarket (to explore dinner options, lol) and pick up some cat food. Not much else really. It's been a very slow day. Tonight is Lisa and Louise's combined 21st party, w00t! And my parents have gone away for the weekend, and Mr Snuggle is sleeping over two nights in a row. Yay!

Also, one of the emperor tetras is looking a bit slow - I'm hoping he'll perk up a bit and get better, but it's more likely he mgiht just not make it - he's weak and not really interested in food. I thought at first this morning that the cat had gotten to him, because I couldn't see him in the tank and he wasn't stuck to the side of the filter. I found him eventually jammed behind it, and I thought maybe he was stuck because he was dead (I've had fishes park there and die before) but when I went to try to get him out, he upped and swam off ... kind of on his side, lol. But this afternoon he looked like he'd perked up a bit. I'll see tomorrow, and I guess well, he'll either be worse or better again :)

Edit: "Fishes"?! What plural is that? o.0 I have some strange ideas sometimes. What next - sheepses?

0o0o0o0 what a nice weekend it'll be. yay!

Sorry to hear about your fishie. I hope he feels better =/

I tried making that 10 things list last week and I couldn't come up with ten things! I must get out of this cave more often.

I had thought that you would have a fair number of things on your list, what with your own business, book, and other qualifications and accomplishments. :)
I don't know if I can come up with anything for my list, hardly one uncommon thing I can think of.

Yeah, but it's only stuff other's might,/i> not have done, so it's not like you have to come up with stuff no one has ever done or tried before, lol.

I've only been bitten on the butt by women, not ponies.

I've also never ditched my panties in Vatican City because of an ill-timed menstration. >.>

As you probably already know, the plural “fishes” has long been legitimate in a use analogous to that of “peoples” — id est in reference to multiple types. But it has also increasingly been accepted (though I'd avoid it) as a plural for the non-abstract “fish”.

Merriam-Webster allows it. I prefer fishies, though.

Merriam-Webster allows it.
Yes, but one should keep in mind that M-W is definitely — and definitively — American. (Indeed, Noah Webster's dictionary, of which the M-W is the legitimate descendant, represented an explicit attempt to separate American English from British English.)

Well, so am I (American, I mean), and it's aluminum, not aluminium, so I use Merriam-Webster. And it makes Sari feel less bad about having said "fishes" when she meant "fish."

I take you're point, though; modern stylebooks are insisting on changes that, as far as I can tell, are based on common usage by people who barely passed high school English. I blame Hooked On Phonics.

Yes, except, I'm Australian, and we used British English (well,A ustralian English, but it's still pretty close to British English with the exception of slang and the like). Thank you though :P

Yes, [info]yayheaven and I discussed it just after I posted this entry. No, I don't make a habit of saying it, but for some reason when I wrote this entry "fishes" came out instead of "fish", lol.

What's id est? :D

Um. Your lazy day seems to have more housework in it than the amount of housework I do in a month. :)
