I have had a hellish morning. I woke up at 5am without cause, but managed to go back to sleep anyway.
When I did finally get up, two hours later, my mother was in a rush to get out of the house and was telling me to please arrange dinner with a friend (my Italian lecturer) for the family as she wanted to catch up with her. She also announced that she is going to Queensland for two weeks. I foresee staying at someone else's place for two weeks in my future :X
Also, my dad was giving me the silent treatment.
And theeeeeen! I got out to my car and the stupid alarm wouldn't de-activate because something's wrong with the two stupid key-chain remotes (or whatever they are called) to turn it off. I suspect battery issues. But, I just couldn't get anywhere or turn off the immobiliser in order to be able to turn my car on and drive to work. I was half an hour late to work waiting for Autobarn to open so I could call and speak to their workshop staff. A guy called Craig very helpfully walked me through the options, one of which eventually (on the fifth go) worked. It turns out, I have not been given the box that my alarm came in, and as a result do not have the override code to override the alarm to turn it off without using the key-chain remote. Ugh. My plan had been to turn the whole damn thing off and get to work, and then go to Autobarn in my lunch hour to get the key-chain remote looked at.
Anyway, I did eventually get the thing switched off through one of the key-chain remotes ... and I'm at work now. I'm going to go to Autobarn in my break and get them to fix the remotes.
Edit: So, went to Autobarn. Autobarn tried a new battery in each remote first. No success. Appears that the "receiver" in the actual alarm box in the car is broken. It's being removed on Monday and sent away for repairs. Feh. Fortunately this is all while the alarm is still under warranty.

(Don't worry. Usual argument and related repercussions. He just hasn't grown up yet.)
He bumped the car trying to chase the cat, who gets away from him and then stops and waits for him to catch up. Stupid cat. He bolted for the front, in the words of Monty Python; "Run away!"
Haaaaaa :X hehe, poor thing.
