Odd ... the balloons I nabbed from last night's party (T.B's 21st, were until about two hours ago pressed against the ceiling in a helium-induced attempt to escape. Now they're half-hey ... now, they're level with my chest of drawers. They were (when I started this post) about half a metre higher, and that was only five minutes ago. This is pretty speedy deflation for a helium balloon. What is going on?
Oh about last night - it was lovely, the speeches were good, and it was great to catch up with so many people in one place. I also lost my scarf, but it's since been found (after a mad midnight dash back out to the car from the house to see if it was left there, a call to the hotel where the party was held, a call to the birthday boy's mum, and a call to a third person. Someone had found it - where it had slipped out of my hand on the way to the car - and picked it up, assuming it would belong to someone who had been at the party ... so I am much relieved, because I rather liked the scarf. I picked it up for less than a third of the original price, and it was the last of its colour (purple and white). There was blue and white, and grey and white, but the purple was the nicest.
D slept over again because my brother picked us up and he didn't realise we were taking D home first, so ... I got to have another sleepover with my boy. Ahhh, nice. Anyway, I drove him home this morning and then went to Big W to organise photo reprinting for my mother.
I have to go to A's house for mum's belt, and
miss__scarlet's work to drop off a cd for her, but first my mum just came home with some siu mai for me, so yum!
I should probably warn y'all that I'm going away for a week. This means *choke* no internet connection at all. So, in advance - I hope you all stay well, that nothing drastic or life-altering occurs (unless it's GOOD stuff), and that you all have a generally pleasant time of things for the next week.
I'm going to Melbourne (A went there and came back with tonsillitis - I hope the same is not going to happen to me) to do some shopping with my mum, catch up with old friends, and attend my mother's side of the family's family reunion at Ballarat. It should be good, and hopefully I can take D's camera with me and go crazy with it.
I'm going to buy a new book tomorrow, when I collect mum's photos, so I have something to read on the way there when I'm not driving (we're sharing the driving, all nine or ten hours of it, oh joy). Hopefully mum might shout me another new book for the trip back. I guess that means a trip to Melbourne's Borders (a far more extensive store than the Adelaide one), hurrah! Books, books, books, books ...
I took the nail polish I've been wearing for a few days off last night because a friend of mine noticed it and asked if my nails were real *huffs* They most certainly are. Lol, he did point out that surely it was a good thing to have them compared to false nails since false nails most often look automatically good because they don't suffer from calcium deficiencies and the like. I chose to believe him, lol, but I'm going to repaint just a single layer instead of the double I had. And I'm supposed to call this friend too.
edit: now the balloons are on the FLOOR! I've seen
miss__scarlet, and dropped off the cd, and seen AJ for mum's belt plus a few other things that had been left at her house in the last month. Poor things is still quite unwell, but much better since Wednesday. I have a few taped programs to watch, so I might go do that in a second. Just wanted to give a heads up on my disappearance before it occurred, and also wish you all a nice week while I'm off.
