I finished a "hard" (but not cryptic) crossword in the newspaper last week. I was most impressed with myself, lol, as previously I've only ever been able to get one or two words on the crossword - and even then I've not been sure they're right.

In other news - when I lived with with an American girl (or, American Australian ... or something) - the ex-housemate - I picked up an occasional American-ish accent to what I was saying. After a weekend of Welsh people, my Australian accent is somewhat more British that it normally is (given that my friends poke fun at me and my normally-by-comparison-to-them "British" sounding accent).

We went clubbing on Saturday night, and then on Sunday to the most touristy beach in Adelaide for Australian-style fish and chips (that is, not soggy, lol), which was followed by a giant roast vegetable and pasta carbonara dinner put on at my house.

Next weekend we are planning to go to Victor Harbour on the Saturday, and even as far as Parson's (which is a big don't-swim-here beach) to show them proper (almost scary) waves. They asked if they could paddle - I replied, definitively no ... unless you want to be sucked out by the undertow or knocked over by a wave and then sucked out. And on the next day, we plan to go to the Barossa Valley - one of SA's wine regions (wooooo, drinky-drinky. Only not, because I will have to drive, lol).

In the meantime - Welsh-types on a beach:

Aren't they awfully cutesome?
