HP7 Spoilers. Do not click.

OMG! WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!

I accidentally opened an article about the NYT review that announced a load of stuff about the book without apparently actually spoiling anything major ... however, the article repeated the NYT article's pronouncement that 6 die.

6 die? Yuh.

1. Hedwig.
2. Moody.
3. Dobby.
4. Fred.
5. Snape.
6. Lupin (and Tonks for good measure).

Also, Sirius - confirmed dead.

And, Snape revealed - always Dumbledore's man.

Harry - seventh horcrux. Sigh.

A number of theories that I read and entertained were proven correct. Canon was set (ha! I was glad from the get go of the series that it indicated that canon was to be R/Hr not H/Hr). Way to stick it to the H/Hr Shippers. Oi. Lol.

Also, fascinating to see the importance of Harry's eyes being Lily's and the extent of Snape's attachment to Lily.

Oddly, I did not cry, like I did when Dumbledore and Sirius died. Hedwig, Fred, Snap and Lupin made me saddest, of them Lupin and Hedwig. Poor George's ear!

Kreacher! Ehehehehe, so funny, and yet ... all right. I was all right with the sudden change.

I find myself both .... satisfied and disappointed with the book - although I can't pin why I'm disappointed. And it's not too strong a feeling, just an odd "oh. huh. ok." sort of feeling.

The last part, the epilogue was interesting, lol.

Oh yeah ... and that chapter title heading I saw on the news? Totally exists. Dammit.

Finally, how was Professor Trelawney when she decided to join in the fight?> lmao!

I'm done. We picked up the book at 1pm, and around driving places and doing some shopping, I started at 3pm and finished at 10pm. It was ... good. =D

You know, I really was calm about most of the deaths. Maybe it was that I expected there to be several already. I got a little damp around the eyes during some of the redemptive scenes, though.

Hedwig I really didn't see coming. I figured Hagrid and Arthur Weasley would eat it. I was really happy with the way the book came out, but now I'm a little lost. The beginnings of "okay, what do I do now?" stage.

Also, props to Rowling for best use of the word "bitch" in books children will be reading.

Yeah! Me too! I thought I would be a wreck, before I started reading. Hedwig shocked me ... and it wasn't until a couple of hours after that I got wiffly about Lupin and Snape (particularly, post-Pensieve redemption).

Exactly! Exactly! Exactly how I felt immediately afterwards. Calm, generally pleased with how it was dealt with and tied up, but ... adrift! Because, I invested a lot with the characters, their growth (both emotional and age).

Sigh.

The book had its flaws yet I was glued till the very end!
The epilogue was all 'happy-happy-joy-joy' and smushy but I had had enuff angst to not complain.
But hey, where did Filch go? :S
The hogwarts fight and potterwatch was pure love. I only had a heart attack when Moody, Fred and Lupin died ;_____;

Yes, oh very definitely glued to the end! =D

I know! lol, wasn't McGonagall's retort about the students being supposed to be out of bed just a giggle!

Yeah =(
